A Day of Reading

In today's New York Times, Rabbi Dov Linzer addresses the Israeli modesty controversy.Well worth the read.

In other news, I wore this yesterday.

Dressing up even when all I'm doing is staying inside doing work may seem a bit much, but I find that my productivity is hampered by spending too much time in sweats. The more prepared I look, the better I feel about hitting the books (sometimes, I wish that turn of phrase was literal).
* F21 chambray shirt * striped Anthropologie skirt * maroon Hue sweater tights * black Enzo Angiolini strap boots * H&M glasses necklace * cowl of unknown origin *
Ah, the chambray button-down. I love how you take a fancy skirt and make it casual, layer so perfectly under any number of sweaters, and feel amazingly soft against my skin. Of all my recent additions to the closet, you may just be my favorite.
What do you wear for a day of work at home?

I LOVED that piece in the times! (And the letter responses were interesting too.) I'd really really really love to hear you pontificate about the current sitch in Israel and what your thoughts are.

Personally, I love modesty in Judaism. I appreciate that my faith doesn't expect me to look like a hootchie mama. But I can't abide doing it because it is somehow *my* responsibility to prevent Jewish men from thinking unpure thoughts. Also, I grew up feeling Judaism was a faith that respected and admired women, a feminist religion. Spitting on children and calling female IDF soldiers (who serve when the Haredi won't!) whores? That isn't Jewish.

Something really comfy. I have a new maxi skirt (from Target) that is as comfortable as a pair of flannel pants. I can throw them on and still feel somewhat presentable.
