Rosemary's Baby

Friends, big things are happening. I found the perfect basic sandal, purchased a light sweater absolutely covered in sequins, and ate lebane cheese for the first time.

...oh, and chopped off all my hair. Oh, you noticed?

This morning, I realized the lunch spot my sister and I had picked was a mere block away from a salon that a) specializes in short cuts and b) offers free cuts to those donating their hair. Kismet, meet Nina. I promptly called and made an appointment for the early afternoon.
The impulse to chop has been with me for a while; though I've had long hair several times in my life, I always feel a bit more "me" with a shorter 'do. Every time I cut my hair I always wish I'd gone shorter, so I decided to just go for it. Enter: pixie.

Have you ever gone for a major chop?

Wow -- you look SO cute in that cut!

I did that, the drastic cut. It was the thing that gave me my super-signature look. I miss that hair sometimes :)

What an adorable cut!  It looks great on you!

I am also tempted to go shorter and shorter...until GI Jane looks like a panzy.  Kidding.  Pixie is as far as I go.

Your hair is probably the cutest thing I have ever seen. It suits you perfectly! I am so happy for you.

Lovely!  Pixie cuts always look so chic- my hair is pretty short but I haven't gone all the way yet!  And for such a good reason too!  I have had pretty long hair from time to time, and the last time I hoped to donate to 'locks of love' or something- however my hair is so pitifully thin it would be like donating a 'rat tail' and who wants that?!

Love the subtle sparkles.

That cut looks amazing on you! And also, the sequined sweater is full of amazing. I'm in love with your hair. Makes me want to chop all mine off again. Isn't it funny how other people cutting their hair super short makes you kind of want to do it yourself?

I saw the post title when you posted the link on Twitter and was hoping it meant you had gone for a short cut. You look great! I'm also majorly jealous of that sequin sweater!!

ADORABLE!! Congrats on the new cut - it is perfection on you.  I went once from having hair half way down my back to a 'do not much longer than yours.  It was drastic, but I loved it when I had it!

I love it! You look so chic! I had short hair for 10 years (although not quite this short) and I thought it was great - you're going to love how easy and cool this is, especially in the summer. Great decision!

Love it! And that sweater - both are perfection!

That really suits you, what a brave step! I only get my hair cut once a year (because I'm Scottish and it feels like a waste of money to cut something that will just grow back). I like to get a lot cut off so I feel I have got my moneys worth! But I'm not sure I'm brave enough to go as far as you have. You look great, and the sequinned top is beautiful too.

You look so cute! The pixie has been calling my name lately, but every time I do it I just end up wanting long hair again.

I have chopped it off several times but now it is long and I plan to keep it long now for a long time. I chopped it off the first time in fifth grade I think and then I have done that perhaps 5 more times, many times just letting it grow long to change my mind and cut it again. Short hair is great but I love long and 'in between' as well. The great thing with hair is the fact that it grows back if you are dissatisfied you don't have to suffer too long.

I currently have very short hair myself, and have done the grow/chop thing many times over the years.  It looks great on you!

I love it Nina!  Can't wait to see it in person.

You look adorable! I just grew my hair out after having short hair for almost six years.... and then I moved to Texas. Longish hair in the Texas heat = a natural scarf around my neck. I do enjoy being able to pull my hair back though :)

You look so gorgeous!!!!! Twice in my life I went short, it wasn´t in yet, the first time it wasn´t really my choice and I hated it. The second time it was because of my hair being so damaged by dying it it was breaking off, so I had to cut it, I didn´t like it at all on me, I have big cheeks and a double chin, not flattering at all. You my dear look gorgeous!

boy did I choose the right time to return to blog-dom!  I LOVE the cut!! I've done the chop a few times and I always prefer myself with shorter hair.  Actually, I've been behind on finding a stylist out here in Maine, and your cut really makes me want a chop!

You look fabulous! Sometimes a dramatic change is  what you need to shake things up a bit. How do YOU feel about your haircut? (That's all that matters :)
