Everybody Wears...Maxi

I love me a good maxi. Soft as pajamas, forgiving on winter-white legs, and slimming to boot, they are a look I'm happy to have embraced over the past few years. Though I'm not statuesque by any standard (5'4 and proud of it), even hubs told me the dress made me look tall. Watch out for me at your next WNBA game.
*black maxi dress- H&M * pink cardigan-- Target * brown booties-- Target * camel belt-- H&M * turquoise earrings-- F21 * patterned headscarf-- vintage via ebay *
I went pretty basic with this look today. Just a simple cardigan (I loved it so much in green that I returned to Target yesterday and snapped up this pink and an oatmeal colorway, too!), a belt to define my hips a bit, and some popsicle-colored lips.

I'd also like to wish a very happy 22nd birthday to my baby sister. Love you, Bean!

I love those red lips! The way you paired the basic black with pops of color in all the accessories is great :)

hehehe WNBA huh? Well I think you look better than any tall girl could, maxi dresses are not my thing, I have one but haven't wore it and I donated the only floor length skirt I had but I do like the look on you and other bloggers who are pulling it off. =)

I've flirted with the maxi but usually feel short or frumpy in them. However, now that I'm moving towards fully embracing modest dressing, I'm probably going to love them this summer. :-) Also, I need that pink/oatmeal sweater!

I agree maxi dresses make you look and feel so much taller and they are about the comfiest things ever! Love the look and the scarf in your hair is perfect.

Also super cute kitchen cabinets...I love the color.

I'm 5'5" and while I was afraid I would look short in a maxi, like you I think I looked taller. Awesome! I like the relaxed vibe of your outfit - you look chic and comfortable, always the perfect combination. And I'm totally with you on buying the same thing in multiple colors - I have the same t-shirt from LOFT in blue, green, and pink.

That maxi definitely doesn't make you look short. You are great at styling longer skirts.

The maxi is not just for modesty- you don't have to shave your legs. Hello, love.
