Seventeen Again

When I was in 11th grade, I took AP Chemistry and loved it so much that I wanted to major in chem in college. When I got there 2 years later, it took only one semester of g-chem to show me that I actually loved my high school teacher, not the subject. Too many numbers for my liking. But I did remember one important chemical rule, exhibited here: like attracts like. Which clearly translates to ruffles attract ruffles.
* blue Target sweaterdress * brown Studio Polini boots *
 * patterned watercolor tights--H&M * creme ruffle scarf--Filene's * vintage lace earrings--gift from hubs *
Pictured above is a very happy Nina, whose husband took her out for a late night sushi run after a particularly trying day at work. Swoon. I don't need diamonds or pearls-- just keep the raw fish in steady supply.
What do you do to decompress from work?

Great colours! And I love the scarf! The shop that you've got it from doesn't exist where I live - but if it did, I'd have to comment later because I'd be on my way now to get one ;-) It reminds me of one of those late 16th / early 17th century ruffs... (and I'm pondering for a while now how to imitate one).

Excellent styling of our dress here!

Would you believe I was a biochemistry major for a year and a half during college?

love the scarf & tights - and that you got taken out for sushi! good sushi does indeed make everything better. reading or cooking helps me decompress from work - usually reading at the table while something is simmering on the stovetop.

I admire that you say because many women forget about the simple stuff, so I'm glad fish can put a smile on your face. I excersice to decompress from work, if I miss my workout I feel stressed and tired. I totally agree with your chemistry rule that now you;ve turned into a fashion one. =D

You can never have too many ruffles!

I like ruffles. You like ruffles. We like each other? I'm such a dork. But, I do like sushi and I like your blog.

Are your tights a Monet pattern? Like them, too!

Like, totally!

Love the ruffles. I have to say, sometimes good food trumps fine jewelry. :P

Funny, that's how I felt about AP Biology though I stuck to English and Journalism luckily - otherwise I would have had a rude awakening myself.

This dress is one of my favorites of yours - pretty style, gorgeous color.

Agree, who needs diamonds when you can have sushi?

That scarf is gorgeous! It looks like a ruffled collar, and I just love the contrast of texture and shape of that piece against that great dress. One of my favorite looks of yours!

How fun are those tights?!

I stunk at chemistry, both in high school and college. In fact, it's what kept me from pursuing the degree in nutrition that I wanted. :(

In the evenings after putting the kids to bed DH and I decompress by watching 'our shows', whatever our DVR taped for us that evening, and then we usually top it off with an episode of Seinfeld, quoting our favorite lines and laughing our heads off.

Actually likes repel and opposties attract, ie why only the positive end of a magnet will attract the negitive end of a different magnet. In Chemistry, it is likes desolve likes.
