...because sometimes, between cooking and cleaning and running to the grocery store for the 3rd time in one day, this is what I look like.
The list:
-white v neck, Hanes
-blue hoodie, American Apparel
-green skirt, gift from coworker, Benneton
-red and white flats, gift from coworker
-red bracelet, made by coworker
-leopard bandana, vintage
This outfit serves as a public thank you to my amazing coworkers, who gift me with all sorts of clothes, jewelry and shoes that just don't work for them. In addition to having a wonderful workplace, I have the pleasure of working with women who are creative, intelligent and, as you can see, extremely generous.
I debated about posting this outfit, but love how the blog allows me to explore work dress, fancy dress, and yes, slightly lazy and sweatshirted dress. Here, I used a few choice accessories-- bright red flats, a fun beaded bracelet and a leopard print bandana-- to spice up an otherwise dull outfit.
What do you look like on your dress-down days? I'd love to hear-- or see! Send a picture to alltumbledown@gmail.com and I'll share your best uber-casual looks in a post later this week.

I totally feel you. This has been the weekend of the errand for me too. Yesterday I went uber casual with leggings and a somewhat fancy tunic. Today will probably be in my most casual jeans (I do consider some of my jeans to be dressier). Maybe, if I'm feeling very brave, I'll send you a picture.
My weekend casual isn't nearly as cute! It's usually shorts, t-shirt, fleece or sweatshirt with my hair pulled up into a bun.
Now that it's cooler I'm going to have to get my Mom to send me my fleece pants and yoga pants, so just modify the above list to say fleece pants instead of shorts! :-)
I want your co-workers!
I am glad that you posted a dress-down outfit because it gives a usable model for how others can pull together something both casual and stylish.
You look soooo cute in your casual outfit!
I'm "dressed down" today too: jeans, tank, cardi, and loafers. It seemed fitting for a day of grading at a coffee shop and writing a lecture.
i want my sweatshirt back

Those colourful accessoires are a good idea. I think they really make a difference :)
The days I spent at home learning, I usually wear old clothes or those I do not like too much, so the good ones will last longer.
Often it's pants and a tunic (and a cap if needed). Sometimes it's a skirt and a hoodie - so if I have to hurry to the baker's shop at the corner, open the door to the mailman or something like that, I can just use the hood and do not have to tie a scarf or stuff my hair into a cap. - Does this sound lazy? Well, it is ;)
