Walking tour days always call for comfortable shoes and a light outfit. Lately, these yellow sneakers have made an appearance nearly every Sunday and Thursday as I lead people around the historic neighborhood surrounding the museum.
The list:
-maroon and grey striped tee, C+C
-brown lace owl skirt, Free People
-yellow sneaks, OTBT
-beaded necklace, H&M
-tan cap, coveryourhair.com
-flower pin, gift from sister
My tendency on casual days is to revert back to college-era Nina: jean skirt, basic tee, sandals. What I love about entering the blogging community is how I have learned to make casual interesting, using pattern, color and texture to make even a walking tour outfit visually compelling. Here, the lace skirt plays with a striped shirt and bright shoes to create something far greater than each of the component parts.
As you can see, I added this sweet little pin to the side of the hat. Since I wear hats or scarves every day, it is easy to get pretty bored with my selection. Adding a pin changes the everyday to something a bit more special, and can make a basic cap seem intentional rather than just a necessity.
What are your casual staples?

Love your detail shots. The angle for the necklaces. A great funky tour guide outfit.
