Mixing summer florals with winter knits is my easy fix for the cold-weather blues.
Today I am wearing:
-floral shirt, F21
-black chunky sweater, H&M
-ivory eyelet skirt, French Connection
-black tights
-blue/grey boots, vintage
-black wool beret, Target
Today was one of those couldn't-decide-what-to-wear days. For some reason I never plan my outfits before going to sleep, as I probably should to save some time and agitation in the mad AM dash to work. I just think that I'd end up changing my mind regardless and would have wasted all that prep time!
This outfit is a good example of how blogging has made me use my wardrobe more creatively. I definitely didn't wear this combination last winter, nor would I have ever thought to pair these items together, but I am quite happy that I did today. The eyelet and floral print keep this outfit light and fun, and the chunky knit and tights ground it. This sweater has a funny shape, and I keep vacillating between leaving it swingy and open and buttoning the top for a more streamlined look. I modeled both for you here.

I really like the sweater buttoned, but then, I'm big on streamlining.
