Belated yesterday post, stay tuned for Thanksgiving wear later tonight!
I was wearing:
-white shirt, H&M
-grey sweater, me and you (UO)
-grey skirt, Target
-black tights
-black oxford flats, CG
-purple studded skinny belt, Calvin Klein
-blue topaz ring, Overstock.com
-silver hammered heart necklace, gift from then-boyfriend now-husband, Israel
-grey conductor hat, H&M
I tried experimenting with making this sweater, which is basically a super comfy bathrobe, into office-appropriate wear, and I think I succeeded with the monochromatic color scheme and belting. Since I was teaching elementary school kids and was on my feet quite a bit, flats were definitely my only option. I clearly wore my new favorites yet again.
I bought the ring last year from overstock, and was quite impressed with the size and craftsmanship of a piece that cost (if I remember correctly) less than $30. I had been looking for a ring to wear on my right hand, which felt naked as I always wear my wedding rings.
Here is the ring again, perched on top of the necklace, made by Israeli artist Hadaya. You can kind of make out the words, which read (in translation) small heart: My heart is in the West and I am at the end of the East. The outer heart reads: I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine. Hubs bought this for me when he spent 6 months in Jerusalem after college and I was back home in New York. I love the style and the sentiment.
